About Hypnotic Dreams

Daniel is a writer, hypnotist, armchair philosopher, and evil mind-controlling genius (who hasn’t had a decent lapdance in 20 years). One of the earliest pioneers of erotic hypnosis (the first to release a commercial recording for women) and the first hypnotist ever nominated for AVN’s ‘O’ Award for Outstanding Innovation in the Pleasure Products Industry. He is also a two-time recipient of The Society for Technical Communication’s Award of Excellence, Daniel also authored the Darren Braid novels and the nonfiction book, Understanding Erotic Hypnosis (forthcoming from Moons Grove Press).

Hypnotic Dreams

Hypnotic Dreams grew from a desire to explore erotic hypnosis and develop something that hadn’t previously existed. It has since evolved into an artistic synthesis of hypnosis, NLP, storytelling, sex-positive philosophy, and personal growth.

Before 1998 (before the internet), hypnosis and mind control were common themes in popular literature. But Erotic Hypnosis didn’t yet exist as an independent genre or subculture. Once people started to connect online, we learned how many people were interested and we discovered the enormous potential for exploring and enhancing our sexuality with hypnosis.

Very little material existed to help us with this exploration. So we started to make our own, writing stories and producing audio recordings.

Hypnosis for Women

For my first recording, Introducing Erotic Hypnosis, I merely wanted to show that any woman could enjoy erotic hypnosis, not just fetishists. Then I discovered Erickson’s technique of story telling, and shortly after learned about storytelling in business environments. And I soon developed my own unique style of hypnotic storytelling, blending hypnotic inductions, NLP, and positive affirmations.

Writing each script has been a learning experience. I realized that erotic hypnosis could be more than just entertainment. It offers a real potential for personal growth through the exploration of erotic fantasies. And I became interested in exploring some of the other aspects of human sexuality, including dominance and submission, forced arousal, personality transformations, and paranormal romance.

Of course, some MP3s are still purely for entertainment. But some use erotic hypnosis and NLP to synchronize the mind and body for increased sexual desire and pleasure in real life. Some contain intense dominance and submission scenes and post-hypnotic commands for real-life sexual submission. Many also include positive affirmations and post-hypnotic suggestions to help the listener free themselves from sexual inhibitions, achieve deeper arousal, greater pleasure, and more intense orgasms with real-life partners

Femdom Erotic Hypnosis

Artistic inspiration comes from many places and takes many forms. In 2009, I became interested in exploring femdom hypnosis, specifically scenarios where a devious woman uses her sexuality to covertly seduce a man into a trance and manipulate his sexual desires. In these trances the hypnotist conditions the subconscious to associate hearing her voice with both getting hard and going into a trance. This allows the domme to covertly manipulate the man’s subconscious until she has complete control over his sexual arousal and can make him hard on command.

These MP3s are primarily for entertainment, but may help condition submissive men for serving in real-life femdom relationships.

Books

The Darren Braid novels

Write the stories we want to read. So I wrote the Darren Braid novels. Erotica always seems to portray an idealized version of dominance and submission, where dominants are virtually all-knowing, and submissives are always happy and fulfilled. News programs and crime dramas do the opposite, only showing women and children being abused and exploited. But in real life, the positive and negative exist together. People enjoy healthy D/s relationships because they learn from other people’s bad experiences. I’d never seen a story that brought both sides together, and I thought it would be interesting to explore the coexistence of positive and negative relationships.

Understanding Erotic Hypnosis (nonfiction)

Although erotic hypnosis has been growing as a genre for over 20 years, no one has truly documented this growth. Media coverage of erotic hypnosis has been even worse than their coverage of BDSM. People engage in erotic hypnosis to explore and develop their sexuality. Yet online magazines have consistently portrayed erotic hypnosis as nothing but a cheap thrill. To counter misconceptions, document the genre’s true evolution, and to help enthusiasts better understand their interest, I wrote Understanding Erotic Hypnosis.
