I think I’ve finally figured out why I’ve been having so much trouble with my voice the past couple of years.
For those who might wonder, it was a posture issue. The last 3 years, I’ve spent most of my days (12-14 hours a day) in a reclining position while worked on a laptop computer. This kept my neck bent forward, which seems to have kept my throat crimped.
I’ve always sat up straight to rehearse or record, but apparently that wasn’t enough. The past few days, I’ve stopped reclining, sitting up straight most of the day, and it seems to have helped. And I’ve partially recovered my singing voice.
With any luck, I should be able to bring my vocal back up to recording quality in another week or two.
