Sexual Hypnosis vs Erotic Hypnosis

Sexual Hypnosis vs Erotic Hypnosis

Most people consider “erotic hypnosis” and “sexual hypnosis” to be the same thing. I however, distinguish the two activities as follows: Erotic hypnosis uses trance to create sexual fantasies and experiences. Sexual hypnosis uses sexual suggestions and imagery to seduce someone into a trance.

At first, the distinction may seem trivial. (And in practice, there is a lot of overlap.) But it can make a big difference in the eroticism of a trance, especially to people who enjoy seduction fantasies.

Erotic Hypnosis

Erotic hypnosis is the broader of the two categories, totally encompassing sexual hypnosis (as I defined it). Hypnotists may induce trance by any number of methods including progressive relaxation, eye fixation, pattern interruption, confusion, street hypnosis, stage hypnosis. Once the subject is hypnotized, the hypnotist may guide them into experiencing erotic sensations or more elaborate fantasy scenes.

Good hypnotists learn several methods for inducing trance and chose the method that best suits the subject and their goals. Every induction method has different advantages and disadvantages. For example, progressive relaxation methods can help the subject become more in tune with their body’s physical sensations. (That’s why I used progressive relaxation in Introducing Erotic Hypnosis and The Artist’s Brush.) But these methods tend to be slow, and not everyone finds them erotic. Eye fixation with a candle flame is great [in person] for inducing visual hallucinations. But if you’re guiding a subject into trance with an mp3, some listeners may find it difficult to initially visualize a flame and therefore might not even enter trance. Stage and street methods are good for inducing quick light trances, but rarely work for creating deeper trances or making permanent changes.

Once the hypnotist guides you into trance, they can then start guiding you through an erotic fantasy. Fantasies vary widely. Some are only the suggestion to feel physical sensations. Others build elaborate BDSM scenes or submission training sessions with visual auditory and tactile sensations.

Sexual Hypnosis

Sexual hypnosis (as I define it) starts with seductive sexual suggestions or imagery. This creates a sense of erotic anticipation right from the start. The hypnotist then uses your anticipation to focus your attention and seduce you into a trance.

Erotic imagery can be naturally hypnotic. Like the sight of a woman’s cleavage. Often, you can only see the upper curves of her breasts. But these hypnotic curves invite you to imagine their full roundness. Imagine touching them, feeling the sexual desire swelling inside. The more vividly you imagine this, the deeper the trance.

For the same reason, sexy talk can be naturally hypnotic. When a hypnotist describes (with desire and excitement in their voice) a sensual touch or caress, they inspire you to  imagine that caress. See it in your mind, feel the anticipation for it growing in your body. And the more vividly you see it, the deeper you go into trance.

Seduction is all about developing anticipation; establishing a sexual rapport, then persuading  you that you want the pleasure that the hypnotist will soon provide. ‘Sexual rapport’ is simply the feeling that two lovers share the same desires. But a skilled hypnotist can deepen this rapport into the emotional resonance I mentioned in Developing Subspace with Hypnosis.

And it’s the continuous deepening of this sexual rapport that makes hypnotic seductions so erotic. Sexual arousal has been compared to a trance.1 The deeper the hypnotist seduces you into a trance, the stronger the rapport, the more they can excite your desire, and the more fully they can envelop you in desire. Being seduced deeper and deeper, feeling the sexual rapport growing stronger and stronger until you feel the hypnotist’s desire for you as your own; it’s a wonderful feeling to lose yourself in.

In Practice

So if sexual hypnosis is more intensely erotic, why not use it all the time? Because using the same technique every time gets boring – for both me as an artist and you as the listener. Even the most erotic imagery can lose it’s potency if viewed or heard too many times. It’s like seeing the same joke in five different TV shows. Each time you see it, the joke lose some of its potency.

As a writer, I write towards a goal. When I’m writing femdom hypnosis MP3s for men’s  entertainment, sexual manipulation is definitely the way to go. But for MP3s to increase a woman’s sex drive or help her become more comfortable receiving cunnilingus, establishing the listener’s trust is essential, and manipulation is counter productive.

Conclusion

Just like Fantasy includes the sub genres of Science Fiction and Paranormal Romance, Erotic hypnosis includes the sub genre of sexual hypnosis. I use the narrower term ‘sexual hypnosis’ specifically for stories and MP3s where the hypnotist uses sexual suggestions and imagery to seduce someone into a trance. Sexual hypnosis can be more intensely erotic, but it’s only appropriate for a select few MP3s.

  1. Sexual Hypnosis, by your definition is by and large fake. The Video’s consists mainly of a woman, vamping for the camera. Exaggerated motions and moves may be erotic to some, but honestly have little to no Hypnosis value what so ever.
Some, do have Pseudo-hypnotic elements. But, by and large tend to be nothing more than soft porn, coupled with a body part, or fetishistic quality, such as Legs, Ass, Lips, Breasts or other imagery such as Smoking or Spiting.
Again, it is undoubtedly erotic to some, but have little actual hypnosis value, or elements such as induction, deepeners, or even awakeners.

  2. Don’t confuse the videos being sold on clips4sale or niteflirt with real hypnosis. Most of those girls haven’t a clue about how to induce a real trance. But just because they can’t be bothered learn how to do it doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It is quite possible to induce a real trance with sexual imagery and suggestions, and to give the listener an intensely erotic experience.
