Bi-curious women sometimes wonder if hypnosis can help them explore their desire for with other women. Short answer: Yes, it can.
Defining Sexual Orientation
Scientists in the 19th century were the first to study sexual orientation. They defined the terms ‘heterosexual’ and ‘homosexual’ to help start the study of human sexuality. A subject that hadn’t been scientifically studied before. The term ‘Bisexual’ was added later, first by people who realized they didn’t cleanly fit in either of the first two categories, then by scientists. Now we’re beginning to realize human sexuality is even more complex than previously thought, and three categories don’t even begin to describe the range of existing orientations.
Today, many scientists argue that sexual orientation can best be described as a spectrum. If you put 100% heterosexuality at one end of the spectrum, and 100% homosexuality at the other end, most people will fall somewhere in between. So it’s normal for some people to be 75% heterosexual and 25% homosexual, while others are 50% heterosexual and 50% homosexual.
It also seems normal for orientation to change over time. A recent study showed that both gender identity and sexual orientation can change as we mature. This suggests that we may need more than three classifications for sexual orientation. More importantly, it also suggests that, for some people, no existing label will ever be adequate. People need to define their own sexuality and not rely on predetermined classifications.
Defining your own Sexuality
Even though scientific understanding of sexuality continues to evolve, social forces continue to pressure people into labeling themselves hetero or homosexual. And the conflicting information can cause confusion, anxiety, and sexual inhibitions. So how do you defy social pressures and define yourself? Focus on self-discovery and self-awareness.
Remember that your body is unique. Your mind is unique. And both are continually evolving. Every experience in your life influences your sexual development until the day you die. Also, remember that you can choose which experiences have the most influence on your sexual development. This means you can choose which aspects of your sexuality to explore and develop. And you can choose the terms that define your sexual identity and orientation.
Exploring Your Sexuality with Hypnosis
Hypnosis helps you focus. For 20-40 minutes, you can shut out the world. Shut out all the competing voices, all social pressures, and just listen to your own dreams and desires. Listen to what your body wants. Listen and learn. This will make your internal voice stronger and more influential.
Hypnosis also helps you explore your fantasies. Thinking about kissing a girl, but not sure if you’ll enjoy it? Under hypnosis, you can imagine the kiss, feel her lips on yours. Hypnosis helps keep you focused on feeling your body’s responses rather than worrying about whether you’re sending the wrong signals or disappointing a potential lover.
In deep trance, your body will respond to guided visualization as fully as it would to an experience with a real lover. You can learn which experiences you would enjoy with a real-life lover.
The first few hypnotic experiences may only reveal which ideas and fantasies generate excitement and positive anticipation. But with more experience, you can achieve deeper trances. And with deeper trances, you can experience physical sensations, discovering even more about what excites you and what pleasures you enjoy.
Hypnotic fantasies can be as simple as a single kiss, as intense as being seduced into erotic enthrallment, or even as dangerous as being enthralled by a vampire or succubus. And with hypnosis, you can choose the gender of your fantasy lover and enjoy an experience that gives you self-confidence and self-understanding that you can carry into real-life relationships.
